About us
We started our business in the early 90s as a pure trading company. Back then, nobody would have thought that 30 years later we would be a strong manufacturer and supplier in our industry with a highly motivated team and our own production facilities.
We are at home in Allendorf at the Lumda in Hesse, in the middle of the beautiful Lumda valley between Giessen and Marburg, where we take care of your transportation needs.

Company Founder
On October 01, 1990, the then 30-years-old Gerhard Schwalb founded his own company. He previously gained experience in the sector of wheels and castors, working in field sales for a manufacturing company. Gradually, the company developed from a pure trading company to a production company that is now respected far beyond the country's borders and now manufactures not only wheels and castors, but also a wide range of products in the field of conveyor technology.
Commercial Management
In 2014, the eldest daughter, Caroline Schwalb, took on responsibility for the commercial tasks in the family business. Since several years she is also commercial manager and CFO. She takes care of both, personnel management and finances, and is also responsible for the entire customs process in the import and export department.
Technical Management
Since 2021, the youngest son, Simon Schwalb has also joined the family business and took over responsibility for the scopes of technology, design engineering, development and production and is also part of the management team as CTO. Among other things, he develops new and innovative products together with our customers.
Today's Company Management
Today, the founder leads the company together with two of his children, all of them contribute their special skills and knowledge for the benefit of customers and employees every day. They are motivated by their passion and their own aspiration to find diverse and optimal product solutions in the ranges of wheels, castors and conveyor technology for our customers, in order to make our customers' processes and requirements more flexible and economical

Historie, Development Steps
- 1990 Gerhard Schwalb - Räder und Rollen is founded as a sole proprietorship, initially as a pure trading company
- 1992 Change of the legal status to GmbH and construction of the first company building with office and warehouse
- 1993 Start of in-house production and development of the first own products
- 1994 Expansion of international business relations with new international customers and suppliers
- 1995 First own catalog is created
- 1997 Acquisition and conversion of a larger production building, everything had already become too small
- 1998 Expansion of the sales department, another warehouse is purchased .
- 1999 First own website
- 2000 Reconstruction and extension of the production building, production grows, new machines and employees are acquired.
- 2001 Alteration of the first company building into a pure office building
- 2002 10th anniversary of Gerhard Schwalb GmbH
- 2003 Global economic crisis is successfully mastered
- 2005 - 2008 Considerable investment in personnel and CNC machines, new welding department is established
- 2008 - 2009 Further economic crisis hits us very hard with short-time working, but it is also mastered
- 2010 - 2013 Company is booming, start of CAD designs, significant investments in IT/EDP
- 2013 - 2015 Strong growth in exports, Canada, Latvia, Finland, Norway etc. are new markets
- 2014 The eldest daughter Caroline Schwalb joins the company and takes over the commercial department
- 2015 Anniversary 25 years of SCHWALB ROLLEN - a lavish party is celebrated
